Washington, D.C. – While on a campaign stop in Greenwood, South Carolina, former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden told Movimiento Cosecha organizer, Carlos Rojas, to “vote for Trump” following Rojas’ criticism of the mass deportation policies of the Obama-Biden administration.

Adrian Reyna, Strategy Director of United We Dream Action, said:

“Last night’s dismissal from Biden shows a lack of leadership to address the out of control deportation force that is tearing our communities apart. Biden would rather put his pride ahead of the impact and pain of three million people deported while he was Vice President.

We need a departure from the cruelty of Trump’s immigration policies. Right now,  presidential candidates should be showing us how they plan to close the concentration camps, stop mass deportation agents and wasteful spending. Instead, Biden is  dismissing our pain and concerns outright. Immigrant young people have some advice for Biden: read the #FreeToStay, #FreeToMove platform before you speak on immigration again.”
