Florida – United We Dream Action endorsed nine progressive candidates in yesterday’s Florida primary election, including in races for the U.S. House of Representatives, State Attorneys, County Commissioner, Florida State House Representatives and Miami-Dade School Board. Four of these nine candidates won their races, and two are going into runoff elections in November.
Thomas Kennedy, Florida State Coordinator of United We Dream Action, said:
“United We Dream Action is proud to have endorsed nine progressive champions across the state of Florida, and we congratulate the four out of these nine candidates who won their races, with an additional two going into November runoffs. We are excited to keep working with them and investing resources to make Florida a more progressive immigrant friendly state by running a fierce digital, volunteer and paid media program to ensure these candidates win in November.
Every candidate we endorsed ran a campaign fighting for bold progressive policies that support our Free To Move, Free To Stay platform, for a future where everyone, regardless of immigration status is able to live free and thrive. We thank all these candidates for running a campaign that pushed for our overall long term vision of changing who represents our community and building political power. We need more candidates like them, who truly represent the values of our community, to keep running.”
