Washington – Today, far-right House Republicans are holding their first congressional hearing focused on the southern border as part of the MAGA led investigations into the Biden administration. These hearings wholly hinge on dangerous rhetoric, and misinformation about immigrants concocted by MAGA Republicans in order to distract and divide.
This is the first of many hearings where MAGA Republicans will work to uplift and amplify dangerous lies like the Great Replacement Theory which has inspired violence in places like El Paso, Texas, and Buffalo, New York.

“At a time when white nationalist violence against communities of color is well-documented and increasingly fatal, these xenophobic sham hearings are not only inciting further division—they’re inviting it. While MAGA Republicans are focused on scapegoating people with the courage to move for a better life, they ignore white nationalism which continues to be the greatest threat to the safety of our communities. Instead of addressing the racist and senseless gun violence we’ve seen in places like El Paso and Buffalo, MAGA Republicans have once again resorted to attacking immigrants and trying to deny people their right to seek asylum.
MAGA Republicans are trying to distract and divide us while they help billionaires and wealthy corporations hoard the wealth our work creates. Just last week, they introduced a bill to tax our families 30% on basic goods while letting billionaires dodge paying what they owe in taxes. We must reject their fear mongering and come together to demand our leaders live up to our values as a nation that welcomes people and treats them with dignity.”
