Washington, D.C. – From now to November, the young people of United We Dream Action are going all in, contacting and mobilizing over one million young voters through our Here to Stay campaign to stop a Trump takeover and elect Kamala Harris as our organizing target for the next four years.
As young, Black, brown and queer people, we know that this presidential election is about the issues that matter most to us and the future we are building for our communities. This moment calls on young leaders across the country to lead with hopeful vision for our futures: We can block another Trump presidency. We can stop mass deportations and their white supremacist agenda. We will pick the political terrain that enables us to continue organizing and building independent power.
Today, United We Dream Action is endorsing Kamala Harris for President and Tim Walz for Vice President.
Bruna Sollod, Senior Political Director of United We Dream Action, said:
“Throughout our history, young people have shown up as a catalytic force for winning the protections we need and deserve. We have achieved what many believed to be impossible and have forced politicians to bend to the will of our communities in order to create better futures for ourselves. These victories have never come without consistent, long-term strategizing and the ability to move, block, build, and pressure tactfully against every political target, from the local level to the Oval Office.
As a generation, we are facing crushing existential threats that under a Trump presidency, could cost us our lives and the lives of the people we love. We will do everything in our power to keep our people alive and safe so that we can organize for years to come and deliver the victories our progressive movements are calling for. We will continue to push for immigration policies that center the lives and well-being of all immigrants. We will continue to demand a permanent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an arms embargo for Israel. We will call for policies that help combat climate change, improve affordable housing, education and healthcare access, expand LGBTQIA+ and reproductive rights and much more. Our leadership as young people in this moment is determined by the ways in which we out-strategize our targets. Vice President Harris is not our liberator. We are. And as people who have moved mountains for ourselves and the people we love, we know what it means to move with intention. We choose to block the pain and violence Trump will carry out against our people. We choose Harris as our next organizing target and are ready to hold her accountable these next four years to meet the demands of our generation.”
