New Orleans, LA – On October 10th, Trump and his MAGA allies’ shameful and calculated efforts to separate families and mass deport immigrant communities will continue at the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. For the second time, the court’s judges will hear the MAGA-led lawsuit aimed at dismantling DACA. The threat posed by this lawsuit is not just about ending protections—it’s the latest and clearest step towards enacting Trump’s promises to carry out the largest mass deportation campaign in modern U.S. history, threatening separation for millions of families and devastation across every community in the country.

Michelle Ming, Political Director of United We Dream Action, said:

“As millions of voters prepare to head to the polls, we cannot underestimate the lengths Trump and his allies are prepared to go to target immigrants and put our lives on the line. It was Trump who hatefully attacked DACA during his presidency and it has been his henchmen who have crafted the violent Project 2025 and numerous state policies like SB4 in Texas and Prop 314 in Arizona that make mass deportations a more likely reality.

We cannot allow Trump and his MAGA allies to advance their anti-immigrant vision for our country; a future where schools, homes and workplaces are all subject to raids, where our loved ones and neighbors are torn from our communities, and where racialized violence is entrenched as an everyday practice. Make no mistake: if the 5th Circuit rules against DACA, it will be an intentional, political step in implementing this very agenda.

We demand the 5th Circuit Court make the only just and morally correct choice: reject MAGA-led efforts to attack our communities now! No matter what, the young people of United We Dream Action are clear in our responsibility to stop Trump from getting anywhere near the White House and to create a future where we all thrive. We are going all in, contacting and mobilizing over one million young voters to defeat Trump once and for all by electing Vice President Harris.”

Jasmine Parish Moreno, Voter and Member of United We Dream Action, said:

“It’s obvious that Trump and other MAGA politicians are obsessed with upending the lives of immigrants everywhere. They’ve pushed baseless lawsuit after lawsuit in an attempt to end DACA although the vast majority of Americans are on our side and deeply understand that families belong together.

I’ve already seen the harmful building blocks of Project 2025 with the introduction of SB4 in my home state of Texas. MAGA politicians are laying down the infrastructure to mass deport immigrants the moment Trump takes office if re-elected. I’m going to New Orleans this week to fight to protect  DACA, and this November I’ll be voting for Vice President Harris in order to stop Trump once and for all. This election is bigger than me alone; it’s about protecting those in my community who are most vulnerable to the threats Trump poses.”
