  • Mucarsel-Powell  co-sponsored the Dream and Promise Act which provides a pathway to citizenship for immigrant youth as well as TPS and DED holders.
  • Mucarsel-Powell  has been a staunch critic of the conditions at detention centers, and  holding ICE, CBP and DHS accountable for their atrocities.

Carlos Gimenez

U.S. House - Florida District 26

Trump’s Evil Amigos

  • As mayor of Miami-Dade County, Gimenez issued an order requiring county jails to detain undocumented immigrants on behalf of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). 
  • Gimenez approved a 67% pay raise for himself and increased his own pension. 
  • Gimenez has had a disastrous the County’s COVID-19 response, making Miami an epicenter of infections and death.

Adam Christensen

U.S. House - Florida District 03

  • Christensen’s platform includes undoing Trump’s policies of family separation, dismantling of the asylum system and ending DACA.
  • Christensen supports health care for all, including immigrants regardless of immigration status
  • Christensen supports including immigrants in all social welfare programs such as Medicare for All, Free College for All.

Kat Cammack

U.S. House - Florida District 03

Trump’s Evil Amigos

  • Cammack supports e-verify and building the wall.
  • Cammack  touted support from Brian Kolfage one of the founders of the scam “We Build the Wall.”
  • Cammack has campaigned on supporting Trump and his America First agenda.
  • Cammack is a former campaign manager and deputy chief of staff for Rep. Ted Yoho, was demoted and has not been endorsed by him.

Donna Shalala

U.S. House - Florida District 27

  • Shalala co-sponsored the Dream and Promise Act which provides a pathway to citizenship for immigrant  youth, as well as TPS and DED holders.
  • Shalala has been a champion for immigrants, calling for the closure of the Homestead Detention Facility.
  • Shalala voted for the HEROES Act which includes immigrants regardless of immigration status in  COVID-19  relief, such as cost-free testing and treatment and financial assistance.

Maria Elvira Salazar

U.S. House - Florida District 27

Trump’s Evil Amigos

  • Salazar said birthright citizenship should be reviewed, threatening the status of immigrants and their families.
  • Salazar has blamed millennials for the spread of COVID-19.
  • Salazar is an anti-socialist and thinks people’s health care should be left up to the market and competition, using Venezuela as a scapegoat and failing to acknowledge the implications of US foreign policy.

Jose Javier Rodriguez

Florida State Senate - District 37

  • Rodriguez supports driver’s licenses for undocumented people in Florida.
  • Rodriguez opposed bills that would infringe on the rights of localities to protect their undocumented residents.
  • Rodriguez spoke out against the anti-immigrant “listening tour” by Republicans politicians in Florida designed to stoke racism and division.

Illeana Garcia

Florida State Senate - District 37

Trump’s Evil Amigos

  • Garcia is anti-Back Lives Matter and pro-police.
  • As a Deputy Spokesperson for DHS, Garcia promoted the border wall and defended Trump’s anti-immigrant policies.
  • Garcia promotes conspiracy theories through social media that spreads disinformation including claims from Trump that Obama spied on him.

Javier Fernandez

Florida State Senate - District 39

  • Fernandez opposed bills that would infringe on the rights of localities to protect their undocumented residents.
  • Fernandez spoke out and demanded an apology when Gov. DeSantis blamed the spread COVID-19 on immigrants.
  • Fernandez opposed the expansion of e-verify in Florida.

Ana Maria Rodriguez

Florida State Senate - District 39

Trump’s Evil Amigos

  • Rodriguez shared a stage with Jonathan Hanen, a representative of FAIR, an anti-immigrant hate group.
  • Rodriguez is backed by LIBRE Initiative, a Koch brothers project that purports to be pro-immigrant but opposed policies that would be in their best interests, like a higher minimum wage.
  • Rodriguez was endorsed by pro-detainment Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay.

Cindy Polo

Florida House - District 103

  • Polo has long been a supporter of immigrant justice, standing with advocates and educating immigrants on their rights.
  • Polo called for the Miramar ICE detention facility to be closed due to COVD-19 concerns.
  • Polo sponsored House Bill 173, which prohibits law enforcement agencies from complying with non-judicial immigration warrants from the federal government

Tom Fabricio

Florida House - District 103

Trump’s Evil Amigos

  • Fabricio takes inspiration from Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has pushed for anti-immigrant legislation like required e-verify and against driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants.
  • Fabricio is anti-choice and supports ending abortion rights.
  • Fabricio wants to expand the exploitation of workers and gentrification over good jobs and a livable minimum wage.

Anna Eskamani

Florida House - District 47

  • As a daughter of immigrants, Eskamani has committed to represent the interests of the immigrant community and is a strong supporter of DACA recipients and immigrant youth 
  • Eskamani co-sponsored a bill to allow undocumented immigrants to apply for a driver’s license in Florida.
  • Eskamani spoke out fervently against the anti-immigrant e-verify bill.

Jeremy Sisson

Florida House - District 47

Trump’s Evil Amigos

  • Sisson’s priorities are with businesses, not people.
  • Sisson’s main concern during COVID-19 has been business recovery, not public health.
  • 21% of the population in Florida are immigrants, half of them are eligible to vote, yet Sisson has completely ignored the needs of immigrants and their families with no of  immigration on his own website.

Miami-Dade School Board - District 9

  • Santos is a former DACA recipient and lifelong resident of Miami-Dade county. 
  • Santos has championed protecting immigrant students and ensuring that schools are safe for immigrant youth.
  • Santos will  work towards a culturally-relevant curriculum that puts immigrant youth and their families first.

Dennis C. Moss

  • As County Commissioner, Moss supported a “Mayor’s Order” to comply with Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE).
  • Moss also opposed Miami-Dade becoming an immigrant friendly city.

The deadline to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 p.m. (local time) on the 10th day before the election. The deadlines for 2020 are:

  • Presidential Preference Primary Election: March 7
  • Primary Election: August 8
  • General Election: October 24

A vote-by-mail ballot must be returned and received no later than 7:00 p.m. (local time) on election day in order to be counted. The deadlines for 2020 are:

  • Presidential Preference Primary Election: March 17*
  • Primary Election: August 18
  • General Election: November 3*

*A 10-day extension exists only for overseas voters for the Presidential Preference Primary and General Election only.

To ensure that ballots are received by the deadline, voters are encouraged to vote and return their voted ballots as soon as received or early enough to account for mail delivery times. The United States Postal Service recommends that domestic nonmilitary voters, mail back their voted ballots at least 1 week before the Election Day deadline to account for any unforeseen events or weather issues. The Federal Voting Assistance Program provides recommended earlier timelines (see timetable at bottom of their webpage) for absent military and overseas voters.

Vote-by-mail ballots may also be returned at secure drop boxes at Supervisor of Elections’ main and branch offices and early voting sites. Please contact the county Supervisor of Elections or visit their website for the location of all vote-by-mail ballot secure drop boxes in your county.

Request Your Ballot

By law, early voting must be held at least for 8 days. The mandatory early voting periods for 2020 are:

  • Presidential Preference Primary Election: March 7 – 14
  • Primary Election: August 8 – 15
  • General Election: October 24 – 31

Each county Supervisor of Elections may offer more days of early voting from one or more of the following days:

  • Presidential Preference Primary Election: March 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 15
  • Primary Election: August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 16
  • General Election: October 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and November 1

Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for the additional days of early voting that may be offered in your county.

Candidates actively harming our communities and are responsible for allowing Trump to carry out his white supremacist agenda.

Although there are candidates on here that we have not endorsed, getting them elected will chip away at Trump’s enablers. We need to stop Trump’s Evil Amigos!
