Washington, D.C. – Today, Elizabeth Warren announced she will end her presidential campaign. United We Dream Action proudly endorsed Elizbaeth Warren and Bernie Sanders in February.
Cristina Jiménez, Executive Director and Co-Founder of United We Dream Action, said
“United We Dream Action proudly endorsed Elizabeth Warren. During all of our meetings with her she showed true leadership. She was open to learning, and was committed to listening to communities directly impacted by injustice. We thank Elizabeth Warren for pushing true progressive values and committing to our Free To Move, Free To Stay platform for justice in order to ensure policies are enacted that protect immigration without hurting our community.
Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders were the two candidates in this race who were the most aligned with our platform and committed to shutting down for profit detention camps right away, shrinking the budgets for ICE & CBP, stopping and reviewing deportations in the first 100 days, issuing executive orders to protect immigrants, dismantling the racist enforcement machine, and supporting legislation that provides a pathway to citizenship without provisions to hurt immigrants.
This election is the fight of our lives. We are committed to turn out our community to vote to defeat Trump and ensure that a progressive candidate like Bernie Sanders who will champion justice and dignity for immigrants and all people wins. United We Dream Action is committed to building an independent political movement to win justice for all people and will hold any and every politician accountable to ensuring immigrants and people of color can live safely and thrive.”
