Washington, D.C. – United We Dream Action achieved a key milestone this week in contacting 1 million low propensity Latinx voters, including those in mixed status households, to boost turnout and participation in elections this fall.
Volunteers and paid canvassers for United We Dream Action talked with voters through text banking efforts in Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, California, and Washington, D.C. From this outreach, United We Dream Action plans to mobilize 80,000 of those people to the polls in October and November.

“Over the last week, immigrant youth of United We Dream Action contacted over 1 million low-propensity Latinx voters through a robust text banking program. These voters include members of mixed-status families in six states like Florida, Colorado, Texas, and North Carolina. COVID-19 has limited in-person voter outreach efforts, but young people of United We Dream Action are adapting and meeting the moment. We are organizing to ensure as many voters as possible turn out to vote. These 1 million texts will help to boost turnout and participation among Latinx voters, young voters, and voters in mixed-status families to ensure their voices are heard this election.”
